About the Team

The Business Products team is improving and growing a suite of offerings used by more than 5,000 customers to ensure they are running their employee compensation appropriately. Our features are assembled from new and existing web services as we expand our offerings of analytics and third-party integrations. Working with small teams using Agile methodologies, you will release our features rapidly and incorporate user feedback. About You

Do you enjoy architecting CSS that is brilliant in both its simplicity and capability? Can you envision user interface patterns long before they start? The PayScale UX Team is looking for a motivated and articulate UX engineer.

What You'll Do

• You will lead the development of our UI layer for our business products
• You will craft innovative features and solutions for our Software as a Service platform
• Working with our UX team, you will build dynamic UI to help our customers analyze their data
• You will work across highly collaborative agile teams with skilled teammates, fostering quality front-end development
• Across teams, you will tackle performance and scale challenges
• You will help us revolutionize the way compensation is measured, analyzed and predicted
• You will have a lot of fun making great products for happy customers

Technologies We're Using

• Our web layer is primarily built using ReactJS, NPM, WebPack and Sass
• On our web servers, we are typically creating RESTful web services

In addition, we also use other fun technologies: RabbitMQ, Redis, Elasticsearch, CQRS, SQL Server, MongoDB, AmazonS3 and an ever-growing array of Amazon Web Services.

We take a pragmatic approach to development: using what makes sense for the task at hand. If you find a way for us to improve, and it makes sense to switch, we will.

 

Qualifications

• You are a master of HTML & CSS and have JavaScript and React proficiency
• You have 10+ years of front-end development experience
• Your attention to detail is admirable not just in code, but in design as well
• You have a strong grasp of Web Fundamentals and build solid foundations
• You can explain technical concepts to developers, project managers, and product managers
• You have the ability and desire to work with a team of people solving complex problems that often require independent research with minimal supervision
• You excel at problem solving and critical thinking
